Upton ultra - 10th July 2021
On Saturday 10th July, 17 Buzzards took part in the inaugural Upton Ultra race hosted by Madhare.
This was the first Ultra for many of our runners, which proved to be a very challenging 60km (ish). Starting and finishing in Upton Upon Severn the route was mainly on trails along the Severn Way and also our very own Malvern Hills.
The atmosphere at the end of the race was electric with hundreds of people clapping and cheering you in and there was also a bar and plenty of food choices. We also had a great turnout of Buzzards supporting the runners throughout the day at various points on the route.
Feed Station 2 was completely run by a team of Buzzards who did a cracking job, so much so that
the event organisers Madhare have asked if Malvern Buzzards can support the race next year and help with signage and running the feed station again, next years event takes place on Saturday 9th July 2022, please put the date in your diary if you fancy racing or are able to help, it would be great to help support this new local running event.
