Droitwich Half Marathon - 15th August 2021
The Droitwich Half Marathon incorporated the Worcestershire County Half Marathon Championships. The weather was ideal and this chip timed road event, which was undulating/hilly, took runners around quiet country lanes of Droitwich including Salwarpe, Ladywood, Hadley and Porters Mill and returning to the finish at the High School Athletics Track.
4 Malvern Buzzard men finished in the top 10 -
Adam Wilson (2nd overall - 1:18:21 - 1st MV50),
Jack Abbotts (4th overall - 1:20:27),
James Lush (9th overall - 1:25:04).
Other Buzzards to finish were
Steve Beldon (1:37:19),
Paul White (1:37:20)
Simeon Foreman (pacing Alison Foster - 2:29:23).
3 Malvern Buzzard ladies finished -
Ali Web (1:44:39 - 2nd FV50),
Julie Caseley (1:53:53 - 1st FV 60)
Alison Foster (2:29:23).
At the time of going to press, the official Worcestershire County Half Marathon Championship
results are not finalised but it’s looking good for the men’s team to have retained their championship title from 2019 and the ladies might be in with a chance of a championship team medal.
