Buzzards smashing London marathon & virtual - Sunday 3rd October 2021
8 buzzards ran the London marathon with 4 running the live race in London and 4 running the virtual, there was an amazing collective total of £6,240 raised for charity!
Well done to everyone who took part.

This was my 2nd Virtual London Marathon and my 12th London altogether. The weather was perfect as I was dropped off at Severn Stoke to begin a flat course into Worcester, then along the river to the Diglis Bridge x 2 and laps of Pitchcroft Racecourse. The 4 months of preparation went really well and then it was time to execute the plan. My target was sub- 4:15 so when I clocked 4:03:12, which was faster than last years Virtual London, I was quite pleased.
This was a fantastic addition to my 1:49 at the Bristol Half Marathon 2 weeks earlier. The public were very supportive and the miles ticked by. Before long, I was rounding the top of Pitchcroft with less than a mile to go. The App was rubbish (unlike last year) but thank goodness for Garmin!

I entered the ballot for the London marathon but unfortunately was not successful however I decided to do the virtual London marathon and thought it would be good to raise some money for St Richards Hospice who do amazing work. I managed to complete the 26.2 miles in 4.24 which for my first marathon I'm really pleased with.
A big Thankyou to the Buzzards and everyone who gave me advice and came along with me on training runs BOTHO The final total raised for St Richards is £1680.00
Thank you to everyone who donated.
Kev.

Thanks to all on the back-up team: Karen (MJ), Dominique, Ali, Nicola and Hannah - who saw me
through the extra miles! It would have been far less fun without you all. Almost £600 was raised for Cancer Research.

With over 600 miles done in training, London Marathon was more of a lifestyle, body and mind change. Over the moon to get under 4 hours in my first marathon distance run. Looking forward to the next event… Joust 24hr anyone. Raised over £700 for Malvern boys and girls brigade
Robyn Hall
Ran the marathon in London raising £1500 for Shelter
Sarah Cuddy
Got a two for one! racing the London virtual marathon at Chester Marathon. My first marathon
and I loved it. After all that training around Malvern, Chester was nice and flat. Amazing atmosphere, great support and a goody bag full of sweets.

I was meant to run London Marathon in 2019 & deferred, we all know what happened next...
Typically I managed to catch Covid 5 weeks before the race. I barely trained in the last month but the atmosphere totally got me around and I finished in 5:38. I ran for West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) I’ve raised £1760 which
I’m really proud of.
Well done to everyone who took part.
